Welcome to Hull Retired Greyhounds
Hull Retired Greyhound is headed by Sue Markham and is helped by a bunch of dedicated volunteers and Greyhound owners. Sue has been active in rescuing and rehoming Greyhounds since 1999 and has also been working with Greyhounds for over 40 years.
Many of the Greyhounds, Whippets and the odd Lurcher that the rescue helps, have either been handed in by their owners or have been found abandoned through no fault of their own. The rescue receive a number of Greyhounds who have been gifted to us by their owners, in the hope that they will find their forever home. Hull Retired Greyhounds also helps other rescues in the area, offering support and rehoming some of their Greyhounds.
All our hounds will make fantastic pets, they don’t ask for much, light exercise, good food, soft sofa and plenty of love. If you think that you can offer one of our beautiful hounds a home, or help in any other way then please get in touch.

The Fastest Couch Potatoes in the World
Contrary to popular belief, greyhounds make loving family pets only needing two short walks a day. They are generally good on a lead and take no more feeding than any other medium size dog and are very gentle.
They are known as: “The fastest couch potatoes in the world” as they will sprint around the garden and then enjoy nothing more than a few hours sleep on a comfy sofa or their dog bed (if they really have to……).
